As our chapter grows, so do the careers of our members. Membership in the Sierra Nevada PRSA provides many members-only benefits as well as our dynamic monthly luncheons. Join at any of the appropriate levels listed below:
Membership Types
Regular Member
Professionals with three or more years experience in public relations. Membership fees are $267 + $45 local chapter dues + $65 initiation fee.
Associate Member (AM1)
Professionals with less than one year experience in public relations. Membership fees are $122 + $45 local chapter dues. AM1 members are automatically upgraded to AM2 after one year of membership.
Associate Member (AM2)
Professionals with less than two years experience in public relations. Memberships fees are $162 + $45 local chapter dues. AM2 members are automatically upgraded to AM3 after one year of membership.
Associate Member (AM3)
Professionals with two to three years experience in public relations. Memberships fees are $207 + $45 local chapter dues. AM3 members are automatically upgraded to Regular after one year of membership.
PRSSA Graduate (AMPG)
PRSSA members may join PRSA as an AMPG up to five months before graduation. You must be an active PRSSA member at the time of graduation or at the time you apply if before your graduation, and you must apply to PRSA within two years of graduating. You may remain an AMPG member for two years and will then automatically become a Regular Member. Membership fees are $67 per year (national) plus $45 per year (local chapter).
Associate Member, Graduate Student (AMGS)
You must be enrolled full-time in an advanced degree program for the purpose of teaching or practicing public relations. Proof of full-time matriculation is required and must be submitted with your application. You may remain an AMGS member for a maximum of six years, as long as you are a full-time student. Dues are $67 per year (national) plus $45 per year (local chapter.
Reinstating Member
Join as a Reinstating Member: $267 annual dues, a $35 reinstatement fee, plus $45 for local chapter dues.
Retirement Status
Retirement status is $57 + $45 local chapter (If you have been a member in good standing for at least five years, you may qualify for Retirement Status ($57 annual dues). Retired Membership is open to any General Member in good standing who (i) has been a member of the Society for at least five years; and (ii) has retired from the full-time practice of public relations or communication and is employed less than 50 percent of the time.)
